When professors require you to read online articles, it may be no fun.
In our Debate and Argumentation class, our professor required us to constantly read articles on the websites of Al Jazeera, The Economist and The Philippine Daily Inquirer to make ourselves aware of the issues happening around the globe. I guess it was NOT an unreasonable requirement. Being an Iskolar ng Bayan entails critical thinking whenever an idea is discussed and one cannot do that if he/she knows nothing. Since then, reading articles from these sites plus other sites (including Time’s) became a habit. Although I admit that I do not read all of the articles, I read those that I deem helpful to my life as a student and as a responsible citizen of Earth.
An article entitled “10 Things You Shouldn’t Do On Facebook” caught my attention as I was browsing through the site of Time. It was funny because I have read other posts on things that should not be done online and on Facebook but this offered a different perspective.
